When doing my preliminary task I was not very familiar with Photoshop, I did not know how to airbrush blemishes or any other effects which could be done on images. I wasn’t quite sure what all the magazine conventions were either but when I started doing the preliminary project, I analysed a few magazines which helped me identify music magazine conventions. The preliminary magazine helped me understand how magazines are constructed and made to look like a conventional magazine and how the audience recognise what the magazine is about. After completing the preliminary magazine I got feedback and knew what people want a magazine to include (such as contact details). This all helped me make my music magazine to look more like an actual professional music magazine. From the research I had done I saw what elements are included in a magazine such as images. My music magazine’s contents page is well constructed and has hardly any blank spaces this is due to all the contents page analysis I did and by actually making a contents page in the preliminary task and getting feedback from the audience and evaluating it. I also learnt new ways to present my work other than Microsoft presentation, such as Prezi and Flickr. I personally prefer Prezi to present ideas and the research I have done because it is very easy to create and looks much more entertaining and fun compared to Microsoft presentation.
